The New Latin Trade Route

The Hispanic Social Assembly (HSA) Expands Its Visibility and Community Impact

The Hispanic Social Assembly (HSA) is steadily gaining recognition and visibility within the community. In an exclusive interview with Latinos Todos, the flagship program on Ultra Radio Richmond FM, HSA’s president shared with thousands of listeners the vision, achievements, and impact of this multilateral platform transforming trade for Latin American producers. The conversation touched on key topics, such as expanding fair trade, eliminating intermediaries, and HSA’s role in creating real opportunities for small-scale producers.

Host: Alejandro, why is HSA so important for Latin American producers?

Alejandro Suárez: Because we are changing the rules of the game. For decades, small producers have worked tirelessly, only to be exploited by intermediaries taking the bulk of the profits. With HSA, we are giving them back control over their products, connecting them directly to international markets. We’ve already succeeded with Guatemalan coffee, now sold in 54 stores in Richmond, and we’re aiming for more: salt from Mexico, olive oil from Spain, cocoa from Ecuador… All from cooperatives previously excluded from the global market.

Host: How can the community support this initiative?

Alejandro Suárez: By purchasing HSA-certified products. Not only do they get quality goods, but they also generate real social impact. A portion of every sale goes to a social fund aimed at improving conditions for farmers in their home countries. Additionally, we need more entrepreneurs, merchants, and distributors to join, creating fair trade networks and opening new spaces for our products. This is a collective mission: when one producer grows, the whole community moves forward.

The message was clear: HSA is more than just a trade platform; it is a movement striving for economic justice and opportunities for those historically marginalized. The interview was not only informative but also a call to action for the community to actively participate in this transformation. HSA’s expansion is well underway, and every individual who joins—whether as a consumer or business partner—becomes a crucial part of this economic revolution. This is just the beginning of a new era for Latin American commerce.
