HSA Opens the Doors of Global Trade to Small Producers

The Hispanic Social Assembly (HSA) Achieves a Milestone in Empowering Latin American Producers

The Hispanic Social Assembly (HSA) has reached a significant milestone in its mission to transform trade and empower Latin American producers. Thanks to the efforts of our local board in Guatemala, coffee from small-scale farmers has crossed borders and is now sold in 54 stores across Richmond, Virginia. This is not just a commercial success but proof that a model based on fair trade, sustainable production, and cooperation can challenge big brands and create new opportunities for those historically excluded from the global market.

The HSA brand certifies that every product comes from a fair system, ensuring farmers receive a fair income and cultivation practices respect the environment. Our coffee is produced under organic standards, free from harmful agrochemicals, and its commercialization generates not only revenue for producers but also a direct impact on their communities. A percentage of every purchase goes to a social fund, reinvested in high-impact projects in agricultural zones across Latin America, improving infrastructure, education, and quality of life for thousands of families.

This business model doesn’t stop at coffee. HSA is working to replicate it with other products from cooperatives marginalized by traditional systems. Soon, artisanal salt from Mexico and olive oil from Spain will follow the same path, establishing a trade channel where producers take center stage, and consumers become agents of change with every purchase. We are building a market where quality, fairness, and sustainability are the standard, not the exception.

What once seemed impossible is now a tangible reality. Without exploitative intermediaries or corporations controlling prices, we are proving that small producers can compete in international markets without losing their identity or dignity. This is the true revolution: not just selling products but transforming the structure of trade, ensuring real opportunities for those who have been overlooked for decades.
