HSA and the Virginia Department of Agriculture Explore Opportunities for Latin American Producers
In its commitment to opening new markets for Latin American producers, the Hispanic Social Assembly (HSA) welcomed Rob Davenport, Director of the Marketing and Development Division of the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, to its offices in Richmond, Virginia. During the meeting, ideas and strategies were presented to facilitate the entry of Latin American products through the state’s port and strengthen access to high-quality organic products for local consumers.
Building on the work that the HSA has developed in other key meetings with businesspeople and government representatives, this dialogue session addressed regulatory and logistical aspects to optimize direct trade between producers and the U.S. market. Opportunities were discussed to streamline import processes, establish quality standards, and promote policies that benefit both farmers and consumers in Virginia.
This meeting represents a firm step in the HSA’s mission to connect Latin America with strategic markets in the U.S. By forging partnerships with key institutions, the organization continues to position itself as a fundamental player in transforming international trade, driving fairer, more sustainable, and efficient practices for producers in the region.
